Gymnastic North’s Star Incentive Program is our way of providing award and recognition during your child’s skill progression. It’s also a means for gymnasts to advance from level to level, knowing exactly where they stand during the journey.
Girls are given an elastic belt, and boys elastic wrist bands. The first belt/bands are provided by us free of charge. If lost, the replacement cost is $2/belt, $1/band and 25¢/star.

Every star skill is an important
gymnastics skill necessary for
advancing in the sport.

Following a modified U.S.A.G. progression, Beginners start at the White level, then proceed to Red for Level II, then Blue, Teal (girls) or Purple (boys), and finally Black Level for both.
Star skills record sheets are kept for each student. Every color has a Level I and II that the gymnasts must pass by performing star skills at a high level of proficiency. When they pass a skill they “ring the bell” in class and receive a star at class end.

There are a minimum number of required star skills that must be passed at each level. Some skills will be worked on in every class.
To officially move to another level the gymnast must attend a monthly Move Up Night (small fee required). They will receive an invitation to come when they are ready.

Important: Students must wear their belt/bands to class in order to take home the stars that they earn.
